The Zen Monastery Peace Center is set on 320 acres of rolling forest, canyons, and meadows in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
A place of exquisite beauty and tranquility, the Monastery is a compassionate environment for the deep work of spiritual transformation. Lovingkindness, generosity, and caring for everything is practiced as a way of life.
Conscious compassionate awareness is embodied in the aesthetic of the red-roofed buildings, the silent simplicity of the meditation hall, the song of the waterfall, the wild beauty of the garden, the food that is lovingly served, the teachings that are freely offered, and the attitude of mind that informs our work and practice.
It is a place to challenge the voices of egocentric karmic conditioning, pay attention in a kind and safe space, and realize our authentic nature.
Visiting the Monastery
The Monastery is a silent residential community and is open to the public for weekend workshops and retreats.
Advanced practitioners can apply for extended stays at the Monastery as part of the Visiting Monk Program.
Meditation at the Monastery
You are welcome to participate in the Sunday morning program and the Thursday evening program that includes meditation and a facilitated group discussion.
