What to Expect When You Visit
You may be wondering what impact the Governor’s most recent orders have had on Murphys businesses. The big change is that all dining and tasting must take place outside now. That means our restaurants, tasting rooms, and pubs with food are now only serving on their patios, lawns, or other outdoor seating areas. As a result, they may have more limited space and most will require reservations. You’ll notice that we have also eliminated some of the parking on Main Street to better provide outdoor seating for our guests. Visit our map page to see the locations of our free public parking lots within walking distance of Main Street.
As has been the case this year, some of our businesses are open a more limited number of days and hours than they might have been in the past. If there is a particular business you would like to visit, we suggest that you give them a call or visit their social media pages to verify their days, hours, and policies which are changing frequently in response to state and local guidance.
Weekends have been busy here and most of our businesses are open. They’ve embraced the chance to get outside and are coming up with fun and unique ways to serve you. Watch social media pages for new offerings and opportunities. Several tasting rooms have expanded their patio seating, many have seating right on Main Street, and others have large grounds in town or close by for you to enjoy.
We do have the same requirements here as the rest of California. Face coverings are mandatory when out and about and unable to maintain social distancing. We encourage you to use your own judgment and wear a face covering when you will be in close proximity to other people not in your household group :) While our cases have been very low here, we have visitors coming from all over the state and country so you don’t know who else you will be in contact with and we want all of you, and our locals, to enjoy your visit, stay healthy, and come back often.
We encourage you to avoid large gatherings where possible and take advantage of the opportunity to spread out while you are here, enjoy the opportunity to eat and taste outside, grab a take-out meal and buy a bottle of wine for a picnic, or get out and see what else our area has to offer, but most importantly, please cooperate with the staff of businesses while they do their best to make your trip fun while taking the required measures to protect you and their staff.
The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance maintains a handy list of their member tasting rooms and what they are currently offering which you can see here and a partial list of restaurants here.
