Tasting Room Sales Associate
Villa Vallecito Vineyards Tasting Room Sales Associates serve as the ambassadors of the Villa Vallecito Vineyards (VVV) brand and are expected to embody the customer service ideals of VVV. TR Sales Associates serve as the first point of contact for VVV customers and are responsible for creating a memorable wine and customer service experience at our Tasting Room and Events while maximizing wine sales and enlisting new club members.
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Welcome all VVV guests, pour wine for tasting and provide exceptional customer service. Create and execute an exclusive experience for each customer: confidently and knowledgeably speak to wines, varietals, winemaking/viticulture practices, growing areas, winery and history (can be trained on this). Promote the sale of wine and the Wine Club. Provide general tourist information. Handle routine purchasing transactions, which includes operating cash registers and accounting for daily sales throughout the day. Perform open and closing procedures as needed, which may include locking/arming the facility, reconciling poured wines, counting cash, balancing registers, setting up outdoor furniture etc.. General housekeeping responsibilities, which include cleaning work area, wiping counters, dusting, busing tables, refilling breadsticks, etc. Maintain supply of clean glasses, washing and drying racks of glasses throughout the day. Help with special winery events as needed. Conduct numerous other duties associated with a fast‐paced retail environment. Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
Must be 21 years of age. Must be enthusiastic, and engaging. Must be flexible/available to work most Saturdays, special events and some holidays. Enthusiasm for wine and interest in expanding expertise. Superior customer service skills and service driven. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Friendly, positive and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors and team members. Be a team player, working with other sales associates to reach monthly and daily sales goals. Maintain a professional appearance at all times. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up and work in a fast pace environment under pressure. Must have strong attention to detail. Pro-active and thorough in completing existing tasks and pursuing new assignments. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
