February 21, 2018Sierra Celtic Society Meeting at the Murphys Historic Hotel – The life of 18th-century Scottish poet and songwriter, Robert Burns, will be the program topic at the Western Sierra Celtic Society’s 7 p.m., Wednesday meeting in the Historic Murphys Hotel’s banquet room.  Born in 1759, Burns’ Jan. 25 birthday is celebrated globally, with his poems and songs.  His well-known Auld Lang Syne is traditionally sung on New Year’s Eve.  The cultural presentation will follow the 7 p.m. Irish-Scottish club’s general business meeting.  Attendees may arrive early for a no-host dinner in the hotel’s restaurant.  The program is open to the public and admission is free.  For details, please visit the Celtic club’s website at www.SierraCelts.org or e-mail kiltguy@aol.com.
