February 18-19, 2017 – Presidents Wine Weekend – Coming up on February 18th and 19th is the annual Presidents’ Day Wine Weekend in Murphys and throughout the County. Some of you might be drinking more due to the recent “politics-unusual” and some of you might be toasting more, but either way this year more than ever we all should support each other and our local businesses by participating in our annual wine weekend. With the purchase of a $25 commemorative wine glass you can taste wines at all participating calaveras wineries, sample great foods, enjoy live music and special deals on purchases of wine. For more info visit www.calaveraswines.org for all the details on this very popular event.

Presidents’ Wine Weekend is a two day event and plenty of wineries and participants will still be celebrating on Sunday. Why not extend your weekend and stay in Murphys on Sunday or come into town and stay on Sunday when the crowds are less. Sunday participants will have more time to linger and talk with your favorite tasting room and learn more about the wine and the families growing and producing the wine. Murphys Suites and Murphys Inn Motel are both within walking distance to downtown Murphys and will be offering 15% OFF YOUR ROOM RATE for SUNDAY, February 19th by mentioning CWA.

Glass sales locations:

Main Street, Murphys, Ironstone Vineyards, Murphys Brice Station Winery, east of Murphys Metate Vineyards in downtown Angels Camp Coppermine Winery and Chatom Winery on Hwy 4 in Vallecito Tipsy Frog Wine Bar in Copperopolis Town Square

Participants are encouraged to have designated drivers for their enjoyment and safety and all designated drivers will be given identification entitling them to free and discounted perks at participating merchants. In addition, Calaveras Transit will be adding extra Saturday Hoppers’ to help shuttle participants from local hotels to Murphys with various winery stops in between.
