Murphys Irish Day Volunteers Needed
UPDATE: EVENT CANCELED FOR 2020
Join us, as a community volunteer, for the 28th Annual Murphys Irish Day on Saturday, March 21st, 2020 in Downtown Murphys! The Murphys Irish Day organizing committee is looking for over 100 stellar volunteers, to help man and woman, the various and specific “Road Closures” throughout Downtown Murphys.
Rain or Shine, the “Road Closure Greeters” at each location keep the cars out of the event area, help people find their way around town, and highlight community stewardship at this one-day event with outstanding volunteerism.
Murphys Irish Day attracts over 10,000 people to our little Sierra town and our dedicated, knowledgeable community of volunteers is what makes Irish Day an annual success!
In addition, there are also some shifts available for those of you who would like to volunteer for the “Garbage Crew, Raffle Booth, Parade Staging, or Native Sons Hall Check-In Station.” For the “Beer & Wine Booth” — Please call or email me directly, if volunteering for these two stations are more to your liking at 209-743-5717 or Email: tonjapeterson@gmail.com
Nuts & Bolt Details: There are eight specific “Road Closure Greeter” locations along Main Street Murphys to choose from; Volunteer time slots are mainly 1 1/2 hours each and start at 5:45 am and end at 7:00 pm; designated locations will either have one to three people, and volunteers may sign up for more than one shift. ;)
A Special Shout Out! We are looking for more Road Closure Volunteers to fulfill the afternoon shifts from 3pm-7pm! We want to increase our volunteer presence at the end of the day and having enough volunteers to help usher out event goer’s, safely and responsibly, is critical in making Irish Day a fun event for all ages.
We Love Our Volunteers! For each shift you sign up for and complete, we will give you (1) Free raffle ticket to the “Trip to Ireland!” Plus! You will be invited to our “Volunteer Thank You Party” at the Murphys Hotel on Thursday, March 26th, 2020
Let’s make the 28th Anniversary of Murphys Irish Day a total success with Volunteers Like You!!
