Murphys Homecoming in Murphys Community Park – Our annual Murphys celebration of summer & community takes place in the beautiful Murphys Community Park under the trees and along the banks of the creek from 11 am to 4 pm.  Enjoy live music, games, bbq, and more.

The Murphys Community Club sponsors this event each year to honor the history of farmers and ranchers coming together for a day of visiting, eating, playing games, and enjoying some time with their neighbors. Local favorites Plan B will be playing from 1-3:30 pm, you’ll be entertained by the juggling antics of Jesse James, and the kids will enjoy activities like the water slide, cake walk, and more.  Adults can try to dunk a friend or bail their favorite local celebrity out of jail in the Old Pokey.

Visit murphyspark.com for more information.

The Duck Races, sponsored by Calaveras Mentoring Foundation, take place from about 1 pm to 2 pm in Murphys Community Park. The event is part of Murphys Homecoming and will be one of many fun events that day. There will be three “races”, “The Duckling”, “The Quacker” and “The Golden Goose”. After each “race” all the kids help corral and collect the hundreds of rubber duckies that have been floating merrily downstream. Three prizes will be awarded for each of the races. To make the races fair for everyone, winners are randomly selected from among all “duck purchasers” for each race. You need not be present to win! Visit calaverasmentoring.org for more details.

Your support of these events help fund the upkeep of the park and local youth mentoring activities.
