Fireworks are not allowed in the Ebbetts Pass Fire District (above Forest Meadows to the Alpine County Line) and limited in the rest of Calaveras County.

Arnold Independence Day Parade – What has traditionally been the largest and longest parade in Calaveras County is back and better than ever for 2022! It will be back to its regular cozy confines of Hwy 4 from the Arnold Byway to Cedar Center. The Parade will start at 10 am on July 2nd and it’s still not too late to get your entry in and join the parade. GABA will be limiting the parade to the first 100 entries.

Free Fishing Days CDFW (California Department of Fish & Wildlife)offers 2 free fishing days a year. Saturday, July 2nd, and Saturday, September 3rd. On free fishing days, you can fish without a sport fishing license. Visit CDFW for more information.
Jewelry Making Class at the Hovey Wine Tasting Room from 10 am-12 pm – Let your creativity flow! Join local artist Thalia of Earthly Elements and make your own custom jewelry. Thalia offers step by step directions, design guidance and technical support, as needed. Children are welcome with an adult. Attendees can choose to make a necklace, 2 bracelets, or 1 bracelet and a pair of earrings. Contact the Tasting Room to save your spot!

Ebbetts Pass Fire District’s annual fundraiser featuring a Tri-Tip dinner will be held on the lawn behind Bistro Expresso, 1225 Oak Circle in Arnold. In addition to a delicious dinner, participants will enjoy other activities including live music by the Burn Permit Band!!

The Moke Hill July 4th Parade is a quintessential small-town-America Independence Day celebration in the charming, historic downtown of Mokelumne Hill. Taking place along Main Street in this pretty Gold Rush town makes this parade one of the most picturesque you can imagine. Enjoy food, live music, and vendors plus fun kids activities like a watermelon eating contest and water relay race for a celebration to remember. Veteran’s Memorial breakfast begins at 7:30 and the parade starts at 11:00. Columbia State Historic Park invites you to their annual Glorious Fourth of July Celebration on Monday, July 4th. The day will begin with a Flag Raising and Black Powder Musket Salute by the Columbia Militia at 11 a.m. This will be followed by a community parade, live music, games and more. A one dollar donation is suggested to participate in contests. Columbia’s Independence Day celebration includes a barbeque at 1 p.m. The proceeds of the day will benefit the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
